Front Sight Firearms Training Institute Says 'Yes Teachers Should Pack Heat!' Posted By : Rafferty Pendery

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute has, for years, supported the view that teachers all across the nation should be trained in responsible, effective use of firearms and armed to protect their students. The founder and director of Front Sight, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, has held multiple press conferences and written many press releases supporting the view that the only effective method America has for defending its schools students is to have teachers trained and armed. While this hasn't always been the most popular of views in the battle against school shootings, throughout the past several months, American views have been shifting radically and quickly, and more and more, Dr. Ignatius Piazza finds himself not arguing against the status quo, but for the popular opinion.

Dr. Ignatius Piazza is certainly a man to be respected in terms of firearms training: the gun training academy he founded and has been the director of since its inception is the nation's leading gun training school. Every year, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute trains more students than all other major shooting schools in the nation combined. Dr. Ignatius Piazza has never wasted his position at the head of the nation's largest authority on gun training, he has always taken a very active role in supporting and creating wise motions and ideas to help prevent gun atrocities not unlike the one America was forced to witness in Colorado, Virginia and countless other places.

One of the most controversial (at the time) motions he started was the motion to get teachers trained in defensive firearm use. Several years ago, Dr. Ignatius Piazza offered to train any three teachers from all school districts in America for free. Completely fed up with the number of school shootings and firearm horrors being committed in his fair nation, Dr. Ignatius Piazza decided to take things into his own hands. Now, more and more districts are taking him up on his offer, and more and more people are seeing the wisdom behind his view that schools must be defended actively, not passively
In fact, a recent survey was done by the National Institute of Justice found 74 percent of the felons agreed that, "One reason burglars avoid houses when people are home is that they fear being shot during the crime." The survey also asked these felons whether they had abandoned at least one crime because they feared the intended victim might be armed. Thirty-nine percent said they abandoned at least one crime; 8 percent had abandoned such a crime "many" times; 34 percent admitted being "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"; and nearly 70 percent knew a "colleague" who had abandoned a crime, been scared off, been shot at, wounded or captured by a victim packing heat.

The same absolutely applies to schools and school shooters. There have been dozens of recorded incidents whereby a school shooter and murderer was stopped at gunpoint by individuals who managed to get to their firearms stored elsewhere before the shooter could continue his murderous rampage. Dr. Ignatius Piazza points to these surveys and these events of prevention as prime examples that criminals will be stopped by trained, armed individuals.

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute wishes a horrible problem like school shootings could go away with the use of "Gun Free Zone" signs around schools, but it and Dr. Ignatius Piazza are too wise to know it will never happen. That's why they stand by their decision to train as many teachers as they possibly can in safe, effective gun use.

Strange Ghost Stories at the Old Sheep\'s Inn - Part 1

If the research about this old inn, situated just outside London, was to be believed, then we were in for a very strange night at this place.

The inn has been a public house since it was first built in the late 18th century. Our research told us that it\'s cellar, split into many rooms, was once used as a holding cell for prisoners as they were brought down to the courthouses in London.

Katherine decided that we should carry out our ghost investigation in this old inn when she found out that a lot of the prisoners held in the cellars never left alive. The current owners of the inn told Katherine about some of the ghost activity that kept them awake at night.

Glasses have being thrown off tables, tables and chairs have been moved in the night, and strange ghostly figures have been seen, but the thing that interested our ghost team the most, were the ghostly screams coming from down in the cellar. The staff at the inn refuse to go down there alone, often don\'t go down there at all in the evenings.

We began out ghost investigation in the bar of the inn. We placed a glass in the middle of the table surrounded by flour. When we would check back later, we would see clearly if it had been moved. Motion detectors were placed in the hallways, particularly between the bar and the cellar, to see if any ghost activity can be detected by the beams.

We brought Annabel in to give us her initial opinions of the inn. Walking into the bar, Annabel felt the residual energy of the past 300 years that still accumulated in the building. She told us of people and noises, the smell of ale, and laughing.

She was finding it very hard to concentrate, and had to stop just as she was about to tell us something that she was feeling. She quickly left to get some fresh air. We had never seen her react this way before and it came as quite shocking for the rest of the team.

After a short break, Annabel returned, and told us that while she had been talking about the energies in the bar, a spirit ghost had whispered in her ear telling her \"Those that will be judged will be done so here.\"

She then saw a visual image of a man being tied up to a pole in the basement and whipped to death. So shocking was the image that Annabel had needed to take five minutes out just to clear her head.

Now that she was back in however the ghostly images had returned. She informed us that the voice she was hearing was from one of the old patrons at the inn. \"Robert\". She told us that when criminals were bought here and held overnight some of the soldiers escorting the prisoners paid Robert to do away with the men so they could lay claim to the prisoners dying on the way down to London. The soldier\'s get paid and they could return home sooner than expected.

How To Get Into Acting

Many people have wanted to know how they can get into acting. Sometimes a model realizes that he or she cannot make a full-time living with a modeling career. Other models are aware of their limitations such as height and bone structure. They know that beyond print work, it can be real tough to get into modeling. So they choose to step into the broader acting field.

Acting requires more specialized training than modeling does. Most actors and actresses get into acting by getting involved in theatre, dramas, plays and stage productions. Many actors and actresses also get into acting through an acting coach. An acting coach trains you much like an athletic coach does, except the muscle that is trained is your "acting muscle". You are trained in learning improvisation, cold reading, and acting methods. These are generally the basics for a beginning actor.

Once you have discovered how to get into acting, you will also need to know about the two types of productions exist for actors and actresses.

There is union work and non-union work. Union work is controlled by the Screen Actor's Guild and the AFTRA. If you are interested in doing union work you do need to be signed on with a Screen Actor's Guild franchise agent. A quick search on the internet on "SAG Agencies" will give you information to all the agencies that have access to the current job openings in your area.

For acting work that is non-union related, you can use other methods of searching to find work in your area, such as hiring an agent. If you have an agent, he or she will submit potential acting jobs to you. Job opportunities can also be found on websites like http://www.actingcastingcall.com that includes both a job forum and message board.

Your agent will need copies of your resume and your headshot picture. This is the best way to go in order to get into motion pictures, television or commercial work.

The reality is that you will need a break - to be asked to come to an audition. An audition is conducted at the office of the Casting Director. You will be reading "sides". A "side" is a small portion of the script. You may be able to acquire these small scripts in advance so that you can practice your acting skills.

Then, during your audition, someone opposite of you will actually act the role out while you read the "side". Be sure to ask the Casting Director what your motivation in the particular session will be so that you can put more of natural talent into it. It will help you to read the lines appropriately. There will be lots of other actors waiting to read for the very same role that you will be reading. Show business is competitive. Once you are done reading, you will go home and wait for your agent to call you with the good or bad news.

Another way to break into acting is to become an "extra". Many people make a partial living being an "extra" in movies or film. "Extras" are paid anywhere from being a volunteer to $200 a day on most movie sets. You can locate jobs as an extra actor by finding union films.

Below are some tips to get you started from the mere beginner to full time acting;

1.Join your local speech and drama clubs. If you're in school, join the theatre there. Usually, every major city has a theatre.
2.Brush up on acting skills - join classes, seminars, and events. Gain as much skill and experience as possible.
3.Read books - your local library will have books on acting.
4.Start small - don't try to go for the big parts if you are a new. Ask to be an "extra" or a stand-in.
5.Leverage the web. Job opportunities can be found on websites like http://www.actingcastingcall.com that includes both a job forum and message board.

With continued dedication and persistence, you will realize your dream of becoming an actor or actress. It takes hard work and relentless determination, but you know you can do it. The business is extremely competitive and the chances of big success are small - but there is a chance.

About Acting Casting Call We\'ve all had dreams of making it big as a movie star or model, but have you ever tried making those dreams come true? View our Acting & Modeling Jobs. Message Board. We are on the web at www.actingcastingcall.com

Independent British Film Company producing next Blair Witch?

A small independent British Film company based in England UK, are producing a documentary on the hauntings at Crowley Hall. Walrus Films are a small company that have so far produced short films and music promos. This is their first foray into the world of Independent Feature Film Production.

The hauntings at Crowley Hall had been previously reported in the press, and brought to the attention of the company when ghost hunter Arron Kasady decided to make a documentary on the occurrences. Company director Daren Marc saw the opportunity the documentary presented, and seized the opportunity to produce and direct the film.

Scheduled for release around Halloween 2007, the film makers are going to use the internet to sell the \'The Ghosts of Crowley hall\' to the World, and are taking intending on playing Hollywood at their own game. The internet presents new selling opportunities that have not yet been exploited in full by film makers.

Big Hollywood Companies possess budgets that Walrus Films cannot compete with. However, the internet levels the playing field to some degree, and gives more opportunities to the smaller independent film companies to compete with the big names.

It is now possible to reach a World-wide market through the internet, and reach an audience that had been previously inaccessible to the low-budget film maker. Websites are cheap to set-up and many are now free, and with advertising being accessible to anybody on a modest budget, it is now possible to reach a mass market.

Popular sites such as YouTube and MySpace are being used by the company to publish and promote their film using video clips and film trailers.

Internet sales now account for a larger proportion of all media sales, particularly in the DVD market, and the company intend to promote their film to the World this way. Big internet names such as Amazon and Play.com will be their media outlet, as well as selling the film on their own sites.

It will be interesting too see how the film market develops in this new arena, as focus shifts away from the costly methods of theatrical distribution, and into the realm of internet marketing and video-on-demand services. Will \'The Ghosts of Crowley Hall\' be able to make its mark on the World through the internet? Or will it merely go un-noticed in the ever increasing stream of video internet traffic?
