A Brief Guide to Home Cinema Posted By : Simone Butler

With the increasing benefits offered by television, sound, and home cinema products sold to consumers, public cinemas are likely to suffer from less interest from consumers wanting to watch feature films on the big screen. The convenience, comfort, and control obtained by watching movies in home make it much more likely that consumers are going to take their desire for the cinema experience to the comforts of their own homes. The only advantage that big cinemas will have is access to first run movies.

Television technology grows by leaps and bounds every year. In fact, many technology industry experts suggest the product life cycle of a typical technology product or component is less than six months. There are many tech companies driving the industry forward, which is a huge advantage for consumers. High definition televisions have revolutionized picture quality. Samsung just announced a new 82 inch HC LCD television.

Plasma and LCD televisions continue to evolve into mini cinema screens. Larger screens are possible because technology is being built into flatter, less weight set top boxes. The clarity of the picture is not only comparable, but more often better than what can be found in the public cinema.

Super sound or surround sound capabilities used to clarify and bring to life the sound effects of films, are also developing at an unbelievable rate. Consumers cannot only find remarkably clear and highly impacting sound from speakers today, but they can find them in extremely small packages. Early in the development of home cinema sound, speakers that offered by best sound effects were large and cumbersome. Now, the sleeker, smaller design of powerful sound components makes it much easier to build high quality sound into a complete home cinema.

It is not just the televisions and the speakers that have enhanced the quality of the home cinema experience. DVD and movie player technology grows, which enables a better performance from the movie itself. High resolution and high definition technology is built into players as well. Audio visual accessories evolve also. Digital receivers and satellite television have improved picture signals for externally sourced entertainment.

Televisions are not the only option for building a home cinema either. High performing DLP projectors and other project technology have created a more genuine cinema quality for ambitious home cinema designers. People can set up their own projection screens and use projection equipment to create a true home cinema experience.

Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia Shifts Gears From 007 Posted By : Kelly Renaul

Whether people who have seen Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia think he is brilliant or busted, the fact of the matter is that he loved making the film and jumped at the chance when he was asked to do it. Most critics agree that although the image he portrays in Mamma Mia is a far cry from James Bond, it is refreshingly charming to see the actor onscreen singing and dancing with the best (or the rest) of them to ABBA classic hit songs.

Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia plays the part of Sam. Sam is one of three ex lovers of Donna (Meryl Streep) who are called to a little Greek Island by Donnas daughter, who suspects that one of the three men who arrive is her dad. The daughter, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is about to get married, and wants her dad to be there to give her away. She does not know who her father is, however, and one day snoops through her mothers diary. What Sophie finds are some detailed entries about three men who she decided could possibly be her dad. She writes to the men, pretending to be her mother, asking them to come to the wedding, and all of the men accept the invitation, not knowing that it was Sophie, not Donna, who wrote them. Donna does not know what Sophie has done, either at least for a little while.

Pierce Brosnan and the rest of the crew began filming the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical in June of 2007 in London and in Greece. It is reported that Brosnan in Mamma Mia jumped at the chance to work with Meryl Streep, who he adores. Although he admits he was never a huge fan of ABBA, he states that he respects all of the work that the group has done.

Pierce Brosnan also has said that he saw the show on Broadway with his family in London, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia not only stars with Meryl Streep in the movie, but he also dances with her and sings ABBA songs in the film, one of which is a duet with Streep called S.O.S. Producer Judy Craymer says of Brosnan, (He) brings a certain smooch factor, and we think hell have great chemistry with Meryl in a romantic comedy. Craymer says that he was the perfect choice for the role of Sam. Pierce Brosnan shot the film while he prepared to film a sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair which he himself is producing under his Irish DreamTime banner.

Mamma Mia, the Broadway musical, has surpassed $2 billion in ticket sales in more than 140 countries since 1999 when it opened. Whether critics think Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia is brilliant or bad, either way you slice it his performance is more than memorable.
